We’re nearing completion of the first stage of the High Street Upgrade and, as a result we now need to shift the temporary traffic management and commence work on the west side of High Street.
The second stage of the project is set to commence on 20 March and will continue until early May 2024. During this time, we will be working on the west side of High Street, our work will include:
We will also be upgrading a water submain in the footpath whilst we are working there, to limit future disruption to the area.
Pedestrian, footpath and property access
Pedestrian access will be maintained on both the east and west side throughout Stage Two.
On the west side, the area directly in front of businesses will serve as the main walkway, so there will be less available footpath space. Due to this, the footpath will need to be clear of any signage and outdoor dining until Stage Two works are complete. One of our team will be in touch with those directly affected, to discuss specific details relevant to their business or residence.
Footpath paving work outside of all businesses will be conducted early in the morning and, to reduce disruption, will cease at 9am. Protective matting will be placed on the footpath to try and keep the site as tidy as possible and prevent any dust coming into the buildings.
We’re maintaining business and residential access at all times. Please contact CORDE if you have specific property access requirements e.g. medical visits, large vehicle deliveries, planned works.
