Learn how to forge a spoon. Using traditional techniques you’ll use hammers to stretch the metal in different directions to make a small copper spoon.

Learn how to forge a spoon out of one single piece of metal. Over the duration of the workshop, you’ll discover how metal moves and the way hammers can be used to create different thicknesses and textures in metal.
Processes included are: planning your design eg. deciding on the depth of the bowl and design of the handle, forging metal, heating the metal to form it more, sinking the bowl, filing, sanding and polishing your spoon.
This workshop is suitable for all ages.

Assembly Point is a three-month pop-up. We are a collective of 40+ New Zealand artisans. We have a shop space, workshop space and an artisan workspace in our lovely cosy little winter pop-up! Make sure to come to check us out!
