107 Mays Road - Pump Station new well

Our contractor will be installing a new water supply well.

The new well will provide more drinking water to Christchurch’s water supply network.

107 Mays Road, Mays Pump Station, St Albans.

July 2020 to late 2021. Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm (weather/site condition dependent).

The contractor is Seipp Construction Limited. Phone Barry Hofmeyr on 03 423 1718, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.

There has been a delay to our works on Mays Road Pump Station, which has an overall impact on the project’s expected end date. The work is now expected to finish in the last quarter of 2021, not April 2021 as earlier communicated.

The delay was due to difficult ground conditions encountered during drilling phase and slowed down the overall project progress. Construction works are now progressing as planned and will continue in months going forward.

The hours and scope of work as follows remains the same:

  • The work will supplement the pump station’s supply to residents and businesses in the area.
  • The footpath outside the site will be deviated slightly during construction but no other significant traffic impacts are expected as the main works will be contained inside the pump station area.
  • There will be some construction noise typical of well drilling operations but this will be kept to a minimum and between working hours where practicable.
