Details

The existing timber-lined drain on Marshland Road, between Prestons Road and Hawkins Road, has deteriorated and is scheduled to be replaced over the coming months.

This work is a continuation of the works that took place in early to mid-2025.

The project work will include full replacement of timber piles, lining and backfill material behind the new lining. Some trees will need to be removed due to their proximity to the works and the impact of their root systems on the drain. The decision to remove these trees will only be made where there is a negative impact on either the tree, the drain, or the road.

While this is in place

  • A traffic management layout will be in place while the project is underway to ensure a safe and efficient working environment. A lane shift will be installed adjacent to the work area which will maintain two-way traffic on the eastern side of Marshlands Road.
  • Please follow the directions provided by the onsite traffic management team. This is to ensure your safety and the safety of others.
  • Pedestrian access is important and will always be maintained. You might need to be escorted so please speak to staff onsite.
  • You may encounter increased construction noise and dust while the work takes place. SEIPP Construction will endeavour to keep this at a minimum and limit its impact on you.
  • We appreciate your continued patience and understanding while we complete the work. We are here to help, so please get in touch if you have any questions or concerns.
