What |
We're building a compact stormwater pump station to help manage surface water during heavy rain. |
---|---|
Why |
This project will help reduce flooding in Newport Street and Tenby Place during periods of heavy rainfall. |
Where |
The work will take place on the grassed area opposite the corner of Emlyn Place and Avonside Drive. |
When |
Late July 2025 to late October 2025. Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm (weather/site condition dependent). |
Contact |
The contractor is March Construction. Phone Graeme Inglis on 027 455 7299, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. |
The pump station is being built to improve the area’s resilience to heavy rain and protect local homes, streets, and the environment. Once complete, it will help reduce the risk of flooding during future storm events.
Construction is expected to begin late July and will take three months to complete.
During this time, there may be some local disruptions, such as noise, traffic management, and restricted access to areas where the work is taking place.
We will do our best to keep this to a minimum and thank you for your patience while we carry out this important work.
Noise
There may be increased noise, dust and vibrations during work but it shouldn’t impact on your power, water, gas or phone services.
Safety
Safety is our biggest priority so please keep children and pets away from worksites.
Bins
Please put your bins out as usual before 6am on your collection day. Our crew will move and return them if needed.
