Truro Street and Heberden Avenue - watermain renewal

What

We are replacing watermain and submain pipes, which are part of the annual renewals project.

Why

Existing watermain and submain pipes are reaching the end of their service life and require replacing.

Where

Truro Street and Heberden Avenue, Sumner.

When

14 July 2025 to mid-October 2025. Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm (weather/site condition dependent).

The contractor is Isaac Construction. Phone 027 323 0056, Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm. Please advise us if you have specific property access requirements e.g. medical visits, home help, large vehicle deliveries, planned works.

Details

There may be times when vehicle access to properties is temporarily restricted. The contractor will door knock beforehand to allow residents to move vehicles if necessary.

On-street parking during the works will be restricted, however full pedestrian access will be maintained.

The works may result in increased dust, noise and vibrations. We will try to keep any disruption to a minimum, and we apologise in advance for any inconvenience.

Water supply to your property will be maintained, with a separate notice being given for the shut-off when connecting to the new pipes.

We will endeavour to complete the works as efficiently as possible and return the road to normal operating conditions.

Traffic management

  • From 14 July 2025, Truro Street will become one-way, with entry only from Duncan Street.
  • There will be no entry on to Truro Street from Heberden Avenue.
  • Road closed signs will be in place at:

              - Van Asch Street and Truro Street (Campbell Street end).

             - Whitfield Street and Truro Street

Second stage, Heberden Avenue will be closed between Truro Street and 111 Heberden Avenue with resident access maintained at all times.
