Oiri Stream, Port Levy - culvert replacement

What

Council is undertaking a replacement of the culvert on Oiri Stream.

Why

Council periodically undertakes culvert replacements and maintenance to ensure they are safe and work effectively. At the Oiri Stream, to mitigate some of the upstream flooding effects during high intensity rainfall events, we are removing the existing culvert and replacing with a triple culvert with a secondary flow path with a shallow forde.

Where

Oiri Stream is located adjacent to 160 Pa Road, Port Levy, Banks Peninsula.

When

Works will start on Monday 9 June 2025 and are expected to take 4 to 6 weeks to complete. Hours of work will be Monday to Saturday, 7.30am to 5.30pm (weather/site condition dependent). We need stable and low stream flows, favourable weather conditions and low tides to undertake this work.

Contact

The contractor is Isaac Construction. Phone 027 243 5425, Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 5.30pm.
