What

Night work to resurface sections of the road at the intersection of Stanmore Road and Gloucester Street.

Why

We are making changes to the streetscape to create a safer and more inviting street environment in Linwood Village. This work involves constructing new footpaths and installing traffic signals.

Intersection of Stanmore Road and Gloucester Street, Linwood.

When

Work will be completed as night work from 19 May 2024 to 24 May 2024. Sunday to Friday, 6pm to 6.30am (weather/site condition dependent).

Details

Impacts on traffic

  • This work may be completed in one night (19 May 2024), but we have allowed for up to a week, in case bad weather causes delays.
  • Temporary traffic management will be in place in the areas where we are working.
  • An overnight 3-way stop/go system will be in place on this intersection.
  • During the work there will be no-entry to Gloucester Street for cars travelling north-bound on Stanmore Road. This is in line with the current one-way system that northbound vehicles on Stanmore Road from the Hereford Street intersection.
  • Cars travelling south-bound on Stanmore Road can continue through the intersection on to Stanmore Road.
  • Cars travelling along Gloucester Street in either direction can turn left and right on to Stanmore Road.
  • Cars travelling along Gloucester Street in either direction can continue through the intersection and remain on Gloucester Street.
  • On-street parking will be affected and temporary restricted on Stanmore Road and Gloucester Streets where we are working.
  • Temporary bus stops will be installed where existing stops may be affected.  Signage will indicate where the bus stop has moved to.  Please allow extra time.
  • Cyclists will be merged with the traffic lanes.  Please drive and ride with care.
  • Speed will be reduced to 30km/h through the work area.
  • Pedestrian access to footpaths will be always maintained with detours in place from time to time.  Please follow signage and instructions of our temporary traffic management teams.

Impacts of work

  • Overnight there will be increased noise, dust and vibration from the use of machinery for activities such as saw cutting, hydro excavation, and plate compaction.
  • We will keep work areas small where possible and road cones will indicate where parking will not be available.
  • Property access will be maintained where possible.  We will work with businesses and residents during the work.
  • Please let us know if you have any specific property access needs e.g. medical visits, home help, large vehicle deliveries or planned works.
