Details
Between Tuesday 2 April and start of July, we’ll be making some essential safety improvements at the Cashmere Road/Colombo Street/Centaurus Road/Dyers Pass Road roundabout.
We are installing safe speed treatments on all four approaches to the intersection. These are designed to slow traffic down. This helps to give people more time to react and avoid a crash. The impact of a crash is also less severe at lower speeds.
The works will also involve new kerb alignments, footpath improvements and new road markings. We’ll install a concrete lip around the centre of the roundabout to help reduce the speed of people travelling through the roundabout.
Please find key information about these improvements below:
- There will be a number of traffic management layouts implemented while the work is completed. These will be a variation of temporary traffic lights, shoulder closures, lane drops and temporary on-street parking removal.
- Please allow time for delays and plan your trip accordingly.
- Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times; you may need to be escorted so please speak to staff onsite.
- Increased construction noise and disturbance may be encountered but the contractor will endeavour to keep this to a minimum.
- Please follow the directions provided by the onsite traffic management team at all times.
- Please advise us via the contact information above if you have any specific property requirements e.g. medical visits, home help, large vehicle deliveries or planned works.
Noise
There may be increased noise, dust and vibrations during work but it shouldn’t impact on your power, water, gas or phone services.
Safety
Safety is our biggest priority so please keep children and pets away from worksites.
Bins
Please put your bins out as usual before 6am on your collection day. Our crew will move and return them if needed.
