Details
Over a period of five weeks, we will be making pedestrian safety upgrades to make it safer and easier for tamariki (children) and rangatahi (young people) to get to and from school in the Linwood area.
We’re making improvements at several locations to make it safer for pedestrians to cross the road at the intersections of:
- Worcester Street/Surrey Street - 27/11/2023
- Worcester Street/McLean Street - 27/11/2023
- Woodham Road/Tancred Street - 04/12/2023
- Brittan Street/Linwood Ave - 04/12/2023
- Tancred Street/Linwood Ave - 04/12/2023
Features to improve pedestrian safety include:
- Installing pedestrian refuge islands and speed humps in various locations
- Enhancing existing pedestrian crossings
Noise
There may be increased noise, dust and vibrations during work but it shouldn’t impact on your power, water, gas or phone services.
Safety
Safety is our biggest priority so please keep children and pets away from worksites.
Bins
Please put your bins out as usual before 6am on your collection day. Our crew will move and return them if needed.
