Details
What are we doing?
We are building a cycleway on Ilam Road between Memorial Ave and Aorangi Road. Works include new stormwater, new kerbs and channels, new footpaths and a new signalised crossing outside Jellie Park. Due to the restricted road width, this work will require a one way traffic management system during this time, as shown over the page.
Traffic Impacts
The one way traffic management system will be installed on Monday 11 September. Traffic will travel in a northbound direction with southbound traffic detoured, with no access to Ilam Road from the Clyde Road roundabout. The detour routes will be signposted; please use Clyde Road to the east, and Waimairi Road/Greers Road to the west. Our friendly staff on site can also assist with any queries. Footpath access around our work site will be maintained. A 30kph speed limit will be in place so we can keep our workers and everyone safe. Please keep an eye out for changes in traffic management.
Driveway Access
Access to properties will be maintained. However, we may need to work in front of driveways from time to time. We will try to give you plenty notice of this. However, if you need to get into or out of your property and we are in the way, please just talk to one of our friendly staff and we will make sure you can use your driveway.
Please note - this temporary traffic management layout will be installed in conjunction with another one way traffic management system between Ryeland Ave and Memorial Ave.

Noise
There may be increased noise, dust and vibrations during work but it shouldn’t impact on your power, water, gas or phone services.
Safety
Safety is our biggest priority so please keep children and pets away from worksites.
Bins
Please put your bins out as usual before 6am on your collection day. Our crew will move and return them if needed.
