Sydenham Pump Station - water tank replacement

What

A new water storage tank will replace the temporary tanks used since the pump station was badly damaged in the earthquakes.

Why

The water storage tank was damaged beyond repair during the 2010/2011 Canterbury earthquakes. Temporary tanks were installed to restore service. The temporary tanks are now reaching their end of life and must be replaced.

Sydenham Pump Station, Christchurch.

When

Mid-September 2022 to late January 2024. Monday to Saturday, 7am to 6pm (weather/site condition dependent).

Details 

  • The project includes the construction of a new 500m3 potable water storage tank and associated pipework.
  • Removal of the damaged water tank and temporary storage tanks.
