We're installing a signalised pedestrian crossing next to the Milton Street and Simeon Street intersection.

We’re installing a signalised pedestrian crossing on Milton Street

  • Work started on Monday 8 September 2025 and will continue until approximately 11 October 2025.
  • This work includes adding new kerb buildouts and installing a new signalised crossing on a safe speed platform.
  • We’re working at the pedestrian crossing on Milton Street, next to the intersection with Simeon Street.
  • This signalised crossing will make it safer to cross the road for people walking, cycling and scooting.
  • We’re working between 7am and 7pm (Monday to Friday) with one night of works (7pm to 7am) on Sunday 14 September.
  • We appreciate that this community is experiencing a lot of disruption relating to road works in the area at the moment. We’re grateful to you for your ongoing cooperation and understanding.

Main traffic impacts

  • There will be no entry to Milton Street from the northeast end of Simeon Street while we work.
  • We’ll maintain access to Simeon Street from Milton Street.
  • Cyclists will need to merge with the traffic through the work site.
  • We will need to temporarily remove on-street parking to allow space for the works.
  • Please see the start works notice(external link) for more information about traffic impacts.

Please note: We're working on an essential wastewater renewal just up the road on Simeon Street. Please see the start works notice(external link) for more information about the traffic impacts of that renewal.

Ngā mihi nui, thanks for your patience while we complete this important work.
