Description |
Starting from the Te Oka Reserve car park, the track crosses a bridge over the stream and then right through several gates. The track keeps to the valley, initially flat, then climbing. The Valley Loop Shortcut is reached after 2km. This connecting track halves the length of the loop walk if you're looking for something shorter. At 0.5km and with an 80m ascent, it takes about 10 minutes to get back to the main Valley Loop Track as it heads back towards the car park. The Gap Road Spur junction is reached not long after passing the shortcut track, and after a further 3.5km, the track crosses the stream and starts heading back towards Te Oka car park. The track crosses the stream once more about 1km from the car park and rejoins the outward route. |
Warning |
In winter, tracks can be wet and slippery, so please proceed with caution. The Te Oka Stream may be impassable after heavy rain. |
