Work Readiness for Women course

Navigating entry or re-entry into the workforce can be challenging, but there are things you can do to equip yourself with the right tools to get your dream job.

In collaboration with Dress for Success, this five-week short course is an excellent way to kickstart your journey into a new career pathway or to restart your career. Being proactive and engaged in the course will give you the skills and confidence you need to get your dream job.

You have a lot to offer and a job that fits you is out there. Take the first step and set off along the path to PowerUp your career.

Proposed course outline

Session 1: Introduction, expectations, and goal setting.
Session 2: Identifying personal, transferable, and technical skills.
Session 3: CV and cover letters.
Session 4: Communication, mock interviews, and personal presentation.
Session 5: Where are the jobs? Hidden job market.

Employers value transferable skills and hire based on those combined with your personal qualities. This course will help you work out your transferrable skills and add them to your CV.

We intentionally have small class sizes as it helps with improved learning outcomes, and you receive more personalised attention from the career coach. Learners can also share ideas and learn from each other. We love collaboration!

The course is in the beautiful two-hectare Risingholme Park in the renovated and heritage-listed Homestead. It is a calming and serene environment to learn and develop in.
