The Awakening - from dark to light

Introducing Hunter Wilson, musician and motivational speaker widely known as King Cass and his very powerful edu-tainment multimedia show The Awakening.

Hunter will take you the audience on a journey with a focus on how personal and community identity and belonging benefits mental wellbeing, encouraging dialogue about what it means to be part of a community in Ōtautahi Christchurch today experiencing living with ADHD, overcoming drug induced psychosis, working through mental health issues and how personally music and determination saved his life.

This is an interactive show to energise and empower people of all ages (7+) and cultures, and abilities by breaking down barriers to normalise the topic of mental health, hauora/wellbeing and addiction.

Hunter delivers this show through acting, song, educational models, Te Whare Tapa Whā, visuals and humour. He does this professionally and all from a place of aroha/love.

Stories will be told from the lived experiences of the presenter and keynote speakers during the performance, and through a panel question session afterwards. The Awakening from Dark to Light is approximately 80 minutes in length, followed by a 20-30 minute question and answer component.

Hunter is now several years into his personal journey and has become a qualified youth worker. His motivation to deliver The Awakening from Dark to Light is driven by a genuine passion to make a positive impact within our communities.
