Get to know the lineup

Karra Rhodes is a Scottish-born, Kiwi-based country-pop singer-songwriter whose music shines a light on real stories and serious subjects, while still being songs you can shout and sing at the top of your voice.  Inspired by artists like Shania Twain, Carrie Underwood, and Delta Goodrem, her sound blends modern country grit with pop.

Over the past year, she has opened for NZ pop artist PRINS, performed at large music events across Canterbury and the South Island, and has been recognised as a finalist in both the MLT Songwriting Awards and the International Songwriting Competition (as a semi-finalist). Her debut album Hometown Therapy, released on 7 November 2025, captures her honest storytelling and the energy that makes her live shows worth every minute.

Lauren Marshall is an accomplished vocalist, musician, and performing artist originally from Hawke's Bay, and now based in Otautahi, Christchurch. With a background in jazz, soul, and theatre, she regularly plays solo and with multiple bands around the city. Lauren has spent many years working professionally in touring shows and musical theatre, as well as performing on board cruise ships in New Zealand and overseas. Lauren also writes and performs her own music under the artist name 'LOVETA', recently opening for the legendary Dionne Warwick, and playing at Electric Avenue Festival earlier this year. Last year Lauren joined the iconic kiwi rock band 'Tadpole' as their new lead singer and is currently writing and performing music with them around the country.

Under the Wind duo was formed in 2023 by Ara Music Arts graduates Keren Mara and Harry Finlayson-Hood. Brought together by a shared love of music, the duo set out to create easy-listening originals and covers with their own unique twist — think lazy Sunday meets road trip vibes.

Keren Mara’s role is the acoustic guitar and lead vocals, bringing a folky/indie style to the mix. She’s complemented by Harry Finlayson-Hood on electric guitar and backing vocals, whose skilled playing weaves around the melodies to create a rich, full sound.

Under the Wind will perform original songs and material recorded and produced with the creative input and technical support of Harry Finlayson-Hood.
