St Michael and All Angels: A Central City Icon

This year is the 150th anniversary of the church building. Come inside, see and learn about the many milestones and moments of its esteemed history.

Our newly installed storyboards tell this story from 1850 when the first V hut served as a church and school room, to the temporary church, and finally to the completion of the present church as the pro-cathedral in 1872.

The church will be open and hosted by two knowledgeable people ready to answer your questions about the building's architecture and history, and the stories behind its many treasures.
