‘Releasing’ in restoration terms means to clear the weeds and long grasses away from plants to help then grow strong, to give them more light, moisture and room to grow.

We will welcome you - mihi whakatau - and get to know each other - whaka whanaungatanga.

Whakapai te whenua - we will do some weeding around the plants and then Rongoā practitioner, Aperahama Te Aika Kipa will lead a guided hīkoi to share the knowledge of the plants and their healing properties.

Finish with a shared kai and sing-along – bring your voice, your guitar or your enthusiasm and a contribution for the BBQ.

The event will finish with a talking circle  - whakapai te whanau - to help people ‘release themselves’, to slow down and take notice of how nature refreshes and energises you.
