Find out about the amazing heritage restoration following the partial collapse of the tower. Look at the photos and temporary display panels in the 1st floor exhibition space and then climb the steep wooden stairs right to the top to the Astronomy Dome Room. This room has a brand new dome and houses the restored Townsend Teece Telescope.

If the weather allows, have a walk out onto the tower balcony for one of the best views in Christchurch.

As this is a daytime tour, the telescope will not be available for use, but photographs are welcome.

Tours take place on Sundays during the Heritage Festival, book for: 11am, 11.30am, midday, 12.30pm, 1pm or 1.30pm.

Maximum of 10 people per tour.
