At the historic Stoddart Cottage, Diamond Harbour Camera Club presents an exhibition matching photos from the past with shots of the same scenes today.
Whakaraupō Lyttelton Harbour is steeped in a history that Diamond Harbour Camera Club is activating in this photographic exhibition. Over the last year, members have been seeking locations around the Harbour that match photos from the past to take present day images from a similar viewpoint. Presenting the contemporary and historic images together, the exhibition portrays a "then" and "now" perspective on life in the harbour, also featuring a written description of the historical context of each set of images.
Diamond Harbour Camera Club has a membership of over 30 passionate photographers ranging from enthusiastic amateurs to accomplished professionals. Many genres of photography are explored at monthly meetings and members are encouraged to extend their use of creative techniques and varied styles in their photography.
Exhibition open: Friday to Sunday, 10am to 4pm.
