Ashley Gorge Discovery

Visit Ashley Gorge for a picnic and explore self-guided beautiful bush walks. Options for a short loop track or a longer walk to a waterfall.

Activities and displays at the DOC tent in the picnic area. 

Fantastic views across the Canterbury Plains. 

This is a DOC Toyota Kiwi Guardians site, where children can earn medals for visiting a range of local family-friendly walks.  

This walk is part of The Walking Festival 2021, with over 50 walks from 17 April to 2 May across Christchurch, Waimakariri and Selwyn.
