PUBLIC NOTICE – PROPOSAL TO GRANT EASEMENT AND LICENCE TO OCCUPY OVER PART OF CRACROFT RESERVE
Pursuant to Section 48(2) of the Reserves Act 1977, Christchurch City Council notifies its intention to grant an easement in gross under section 48(1)(a), (d) and (e) of the Reserves Act 1977 to the Ministry for Culture and Heritage over part of the Cracroft Reserve, situated near 178 Hackthorne Road, Cashmere, Christchurch.
The proposed easement is required to enable the Ministry for Culture and Heritage to construct, operate, and maintain elements of the National Erebus Memorial within Cracroft Reserve. The easement area is limited to the footprint of the memorial and includes the right to convey water and electricity along the path to the memorial.
Pursuant to Section 54(2) of the Reserves Act 1977, Christchurch City Council also notifies its intention to grant the Ministry for Culture and Heritage a License to Occupy (LTO) parts of Cracroft Reserve under section 54(1)(d) of the Reserves Act 1977 for the purpose of storing materials and equipment during the construction of the National Erebus Memorial. The LTO Area is to be determined.
