Chokebore Lodge - Reclassification of Reserve

The land is currently classified as Local Purpose (Community) Reserve. The intention is to reclassify the land to an Historic Reserve.

Chokebore Lodge is located at 148-150 Racecourse Road, Upper Riccarton.  The land is currently classified as a Local Purpose (Community) Reserve in accordance with the Reserves Act 1977.

Chokebore Lodge is registered as a Category 1 Historic Place.  The house has been uninhabitable due to extensive damage following the earthquake sequence of 2010/2011.  Repairs are nearing completion and reclassification of this property will allow it to be occupied and leased for residential purposes subject to section 58(1) of the Reserves Act 1977.

Any person wishing to object to the proposal may do so in writing addressed to Elizabeth Hoskins, Christchurch City Council, PO Box 73014, Christchurch 8154 no later than 5pm on Monday, 23 December 2024.  Alternately objections may be emailed to elizabeth.hoskins@ccc.govt.nz
