Our Central City Parking Policy will guide how we make decisions on how we provide, regulate and charge for parking in the future.
Ove the course of 2020 Council staff have been talking to Central City resident and business groups to hear their issues and learn what they would like the new Central City Parking Policy to achieve. This feedback has helped us put together a draft policy for public consultation.
A report requesting approval to consult on the draft policy is going to the Council’s Urban Development and Transport Committee on Wednesday 9 December 2020. You can read the draft policy and the meeting agenda, including the staff report and any additional information, online at www.christchurch.infocouncil.biz(external link).
If the draft policy is approved to go out for consultation the next steps are:
Questions and answers and a summary of the draft policy. [PDF, 734 KB]
Summary of feedback from discussions with central city resident and business groups. [PDF, 713 KB]
Urban Development and Transport Committee Chair Mike Davidson introduced some of the questions the draft Policy considers on Newsline.(external link)
