The cycle map provides a choice of key cycling routes, using either low traffic volume streets and off road paths, or the more direct routes using on road cycle lanes. Some of the cycling routes on the east-side of Christchurch have damaged sections. The 2012 cycle map identifies the damaged infrastructure. The enlarged Central City cycle map shows new contra flow sections to help cyclists get around.
