What are we doing?
We are making safety improvements to the Barrington mall entrance. These include removing the right turn out from the mall entrance, replacing the existing median islands, footpath construction, kerb and channel and street lighting. The changes are aimed at providing increased safety for pedestrians.
Traffic impacts:
The entrance to Barrington Mall from Barrington Street will be closed temporarily at times. Traffic will be detoured to the mall via its other entrances when this occurs.
Lane shifts will be in place. Barrington Street will be stop/go during nights. Parking near the mall entrance will be removed during our work. Please be on the lookout for changes in traffic management and follow signs on site.
What will change?
- Yellow lines will be extended and car parks will be removed on Barrington Street.
- The right turn out of Barrington Mall onto Barrington Street will be removed (but the right turn into Barrington Mall from Barrington Street will remain).
Noise
There may be increased noise, dust and vibrations during work but it shouldn’t impact on your power, water, gas or phone services.
Safety
Safety is our biggest priority so please keep children and pets away from worksites.
Bins
Please put your bins out as usual before 6am on your collection day. Our crew will move and return them if needed.
