About Phil
Phil Mauger is a lifelong resident of Christchurch with a strong history of supporting community organisations. He has been serving on the Christchurch City Council since 2019 and was elected Mayor in 2022.
Prior to Council, he successfully led Maugers Contracting, a third-generation company building subdivisions, roads, and drains across the city. He has also served as a company director and Council-appointed trustee in several different organisations.
He is married to his wife Chrissy, and between them they have five children and eight grandchildren.
Phil is a trustee of Ngā Hau e Whā National Marae and a member of the Local Government New Zealand National Council.
As Mayor, Phil is focused on making Christchurch the best place to live, work, invest and play in New Zealand.
