Subdivision means to divide land or buildings into separate parts, each with a certificate of title. A resource consent is required for all types of subdivision
Types of subdivisions
There are a number of ways to subdivide land that require subdivision consent.

These bulletins outline current information about requirements and specifications for subdividing land in the Christchurch District.
Road and right-of-way naming
The naming of new roads and rights of way requires Community Board approval, so this process should be started early
