What

We’ll be installing advanced direction signs.

Why

We are installing new and replacing old gantry signs to improve wayfinding throughout the city centre.

Where

Cranmer Square between Kilmore Street and Chester Street West.

When

*** NIGHT WORK: Work will start on Sunday 16 May 2021 and is expected to be completed by mid-June 2021 (weather and on-site condition dependent). Work will be undertaken between Monday to Sunday, 7pm to 7am.

Contact

The contractor is Fulton Hogan. Phone 0800 762 334 between Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, or email cant.info@fultonhogan.com . Contact us after hours if the matter is urgent. Advise if you have any specific access requirements, e.g.: nurse/doctor visits, Meals on Wheels, or planned works on your property.

What are we doing during these night works?

The planned schedule at Cranmer Square (between Kilmore Street and Chester Street West):

  • Sunday 16 May (for approx. 3 nights) - construct concrete foundations
  • Wait 2 weeks for the concrete to cure
  • Sunday 6 June (for approx. 2 nights) - install signs

Traffic impacts

  • One lane closure will be in place during the work.
  • On-street car parks around the work site will be temporarily removed and 'No Parking' cones will be placed around affected areas during both day and night works.
  • Please be on the lookout for changes to the traffic management and follow the signs.

Impact to residents

  • Access to residents’ driveways may be temporarily removed. Please let our staff know if your driveway is affected and you require access so our team can assist you.
  • Residents can put out their wheelie bins (rubbish, recycling, organics) as normal by 5pm the night before collection. Our crew will move and return them if needed.
  • Works will have no planned impact on current power, telecommunication, or gas services. However, the network can be fragile, so please be prepared in case there is an unexpected service outage.

Night works

  • There will be increased noise, dust, light, and vibration levels that we'll try to keep to a minimum.
  • We'll aim to carry out noisier works, such as saw cutting and hydro-excavation, earlier in the night, where possible. However, there may be instances where this work needs to be done later in the night.
  • Safety is our number one priority. Safety is your responsibility too. Stay clear and stay alert. Keep children and pets at a safe distance from the work site.
  • We know night work is disruptive so we aim to complete this work as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.
