Details:

We are building a section of cycleway along Main South Road that will connect to sections of cycleway currently being built on Ballantyne Avenue and Suva Street.

A two-way cycleway will be built on the north side of Main South Road from Craven Street to Coleman Avenue. The two-way cycleway will cross Main South Road at the traffic signals and will continue on the south side of Main South Road across Curletts Road to 13 Main South Road. It then becomes a shared path that links to Ballantyne Avenue via the alleyway. A shared path will also continue toward Riccarton ending near the Toy Library at 393 Riccarton Road.

The South Express will run from Templeton, on the western edge of Christchurch, through the suburbs of Hornby, Sockburn and Middleton, where it connects to the Nor’West Arc cycleway. It then goes through Riccarton where it will link into the Northern Line Cycleway and the shared paths in South Hagley Park.
