  • We’re setting up our worksite to prepare for the Heathcote River tunnel drilling programme, which will run from 10 February until 24 February 2020.
  • This work includes potholing to locate existing services, drilling a 400-metre tunnel under the river and along Ferry Road in preparation for installing a section of wastewater pipeline, and removing excess water from the tunnel.
  • This work is part of a project to connect Lyttelton Harbour’s wastewater to the main Christchurch system.
  • During working hours there will be a pump running on Gould Crescent outside 732 Ferry Road. This will generate some noise that will be monitored.
  • Ferry Road will remain open to two-way traffic as usual. Entry and exit to Gould Crescent will be open from the corner of Ferry Road and 62 Gould Crescent. A road closure will be in place from the corner of Ferry Road and Gould Crescent at 732 Ferry Road. The road closure will be in place from 10 February to 24 February.
  • Driveway access to 736 - 744 Ferry Road will be restricted during working hours. A steel plate will be in place at night. Cars must be removed from their driveways by 7am.
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
  • All works will be completed during working hours (7am-6pm)
