  • Plans to close part of Ferry Road to install more than half a kilometre of wastewater pipeline have been delayed because our contractors  are waiting for a specialist drilling rig to arrive.
  • The drilling rig is the only one of its kind in New Zealand and is still completing a project on the West Coast.
  • The expected date for these works is now 29 February 2020.
  • Part of Ferry Road from St Johns Street to the Ferry Road roundabout will be closed for a single 14-hour shift so we can install 535 metres of wastewater pipeline.
  • The Eastbound lane of Ferry Road will remain open, while Westbound traffic will be detoured, with clear traffic management in place.
  • There will be plans in place to allow you access to your property, although there will be no on street parking on Ferry Road available during this time. Pedestrian access will be open at all times.
  • These night works will be completed in a single shift from 8pm Saturday night until 10am Sunday morning, to minimise disruption to residents.
  • We will notify residents before works commence.
  • This work is part of a project to connect Lyttelton Harbour’s wastewater to the main Christchurch system.
