When

20 September 2021 to late- April 2022. (weather/site condition dependent).

Contact

The contractor is HEB Construction. Phone (03) 313 7601.

Details

  • To protect the public’s Health and Safety, the work site has been fully fenced, with proper safety signage at the site entrance. Only authorised access is allowed.
  • Site hazard boards and information signage have been installed providing details of the project.
  • Two crawler cranes will be established on site, on each side of the river.
  • All environment protection measures (silt fences/socks, spill kits, water testing, ecology survey, etc) have been provided for and will be implemented.
  • To hold the river banks in place, we’ll install abutment piles and build the ends of the bridge, along with a temporary platform placed within part of the river. The 40m span bridge will then be lifted into place, before decking panels are installed.
  • Once the bridge is in place, we’ll add timber boardwalks, asphalt concrete for the approach ramps and area landscaping before the project is finished around April 2022.
  • You should expect some normal construction noise, however noise control and monitoring measures are in place.
  • We’ll provide a diversion of the river bank walkway for pedestrian and cyclists, as well as directional signage.
