What |
We are constructing a new riverside landing and community picnic area next to the Ōtākaro Avon River, with support from the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal Trust. |
---|---|
Why |
The new Dallington Landing will provide an important gathering space for the community and encourage people to connect with each other, the Ōtākaro Avon River Corridor, and the awa (river). |
Where |
The landing is situated the eastern side of Gayhurst Rd, between Rupert Place in the north and the Ōtākaro Avon River in the south. Traffic management is expected to occasionally affect Gayhurst Rd, between 96 Gayhurst Rd in the north and the Gayhurst Rd bridge in the south. |
When |
6 September 2021 to June 2022. The extended duration of the works will take into account the planting seasons for new vegetation (weather/site condition dependent). |
