Cashmere / Hoon Hay / Worsleys Roads - intersection works

There will be a one-way system in place on Cashmere Road for six weeks, as part of the wider Cashmere/Hoon Hay/Worsleys Road intersection upgrade.

We need to close one lane of Cashmere Road to make space for our workers and heavy machinery to operate safely. This work is part of the Cashmere/Hoon Hay/Worsleys intersection upgrade.

Cashmere Road one-way system

  • There will be a one-way control system in place on Cashmere Road from mid/late July 2021.
  • We are closing the northbound lane of Cashmere Road between Mavin Road and Shalamar Drive for up to six weeks to allow our team to reconstruct the road.
  • Work includes replacing old drainage pipes, relocating services, and installing traffic signals to make it safer and easier for pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles.
  • Clear traffic management and detours will be in place.

Impacts to traffic, parking, and pedestrians

  • Access to nearby properties will be disrupted while we’re digging out the road. The contractors will visit residents to discuss vehicle access to their properties.
  • Pedestrian access will be open and staff on site can help with any queries.
  • Access to the Cracroft shopping centre will be maintained.

What's next?

  • Once the work to the north side of Cashmere Road is completed, we’ll re-open the road to two-way traffic and start reconstructing the south side of Cashmere Road.
  • As part of the south side construction, we’ll need to temporarily close Worsleys Road to allow us to build the pavement.
  • We’re planning another one one-week period of one-way traffic management on Cashmere Road in August 2021 so we can complete excavation and paving (dates are weather/site condition dependent).
