Details

Impacts on traffic

We’re working during the night to minimise the impact to all road users when the road is busy during the day, and when most businesses are closed to avoid disruption.

  • Lincoln Road will be one-way city bound between Hazeldean Road and Moorhouse Avenue overnight between 8pm and 6am.
  • There will be no entry into Lincoln Road from Moorhouse Avenue.
  • Detours will be in place for westbound traffic via Selwyn Street and Harman Street, or via Moorhouse Avenue, Blenheim Road and Whiteleigh Avenue.
  • There will be no entry into Grove Road from Moorhouse Avenue. Cyclist access will be maintained through this area.
  • The traffic lane on the south side of Moorhouse Avenue heading westbound into Lincoln Road will be closed.
  • Traffic management will be reduced on Lincoln Road and Moorhouse Avenue during the day to allow normal traffic flow through the worksite.
  • A temporary bus stop will be in place where an existing stop is affected. Signage will indicate where the bus stop has moved to. Please allow extra time.
  • Cyclists will be merged with the traffic lane on Lincoln Road. Please drive and ride with care.
  • Speed will be reduced to 30km/h through the work area.
  • Pedestrian access to footpaths will be maintained at all times with detours in place from time to time. Please follow signage.

Impacts of work

  • There will be increased noise, dust, and vibration from the use of machinery for activities such as saw cutting, hydro excavation, and plate compaction.
  • If the work requires a water shut-down a further notice will be provided with dates and times. Please note that all planned shut-downs will only be carried out at night.
  • On-street parking will be affected where we are working.
  • We will keep work areas small where possible and road cones will indicate where parking will not be available.
  • Property access will be maintained where possible. We will work with businesses and residents during the work. Please let us know if you have any specific property access needs e.g. medical visits, home help, large vehicle deliveries or planned works.
