The tenth anniversary of the 22 February 2011 earthquake will be marked with a national memorial service on the North Bank of Oi Manawa Canterbury Earthquake National Memorial.

When: 22 February 2021 at 12:30 pm

Join us in remembering the 10th anniversary of the 22 February Canterbury Earthquake. 

Those wishing to attend the service are invited to arrive by 12:20 pm for a 12.30 pm sharp start. The service is also being live-streamed and can be watched from this page using the embedded YouTube player(external link).

After the service, people will have the opportunity to lay floral tributes at the Memorial Wall across the river.

The service has been developed in collaboration with the Quake Families Trust. 

Montreal Street (between Tuam Street and Cambridge Terrace) will be closed to all traffic from 9 am - 4 pm on Monday 22 February, alternative routes will be in place, please follow the signs.

Due to the event being on a weekday there will be very limited local parking on the surrounding streets however, all the public car parks will be open on the day, please visit the Christchurch City Council parking website(external link)
