The historic Akaroa Service Centre building, a prominent landmark in the centre of the township, is currently undergoing earthquake repairs.
The facility will be returned as a Service Centre, with some minor changes in layout, and is hoped to be opened near the end of 2016.
Before its closure following engineering assessments, Akaroa residents visited the Akaroa Service Centre to access a range of services including making rates payments, applying for rates rebates and paying for dog registrations. Funding was set aside by the Council to repair and strengthen the building in September 2014.
In the meantime, a temporary service centre is currently operating from 40d Rue Lavaud, Akaroa.
