The Council charges development contributions on new development that increases demand for Council infrastructure. This helps to pay for additional infrastructure the Council provides for service growth development.
The Council is required to have a policy that details its approach to development contributions and financial contributions charged under the Resource Management Act.
The policy must provide information on how development contributions are set, how they are assessed and what the charges are.
