Seafield Park Management Plan

Adopted by Christchurch City Council in August 2010.

Seafield Park is approximately 70 hectares and extends between the townships of Brooklands and Spencerville and alongside the western edge of Brooklands Lagoon/Te Riu o Te Aika Kawa.

The park complements the ecological values of Brooklands Lagoon/Te Riu o Te Aika Kawa and provides its own unique recreational experiences.

The key management issues at Seafield Park include its:

  • division by roads
  • tenure of the western estuary margin
  • access and car parking
  • recreation
  • vegetation
  • protection of wildlife and habitat
  • planning for cultural/ heritage values.
