This is the district plan for the area of Banks Peninsula prior to its amalgamation with Christchurch City.

Until the Christchurch District Plan becomes fully operative the provisions of this plan must be considered with the proposed Christchurch Replacement Plan (as amended by decisions of the Independent Hearings Panel) for any land use or development that is not covered by the operative provisions of the Christchurch District Plan.

As a consequence of the withdrawal of the coastal hazard provisions from the proposed Christchurch Replacement Plan, the provisions of the Christchurch City Plan and the Banks Peninsula District Plan that relate to coastal hazards continue to apply. The provisions of those plans that still apply are set out in this table(external link).
