The bylaw was adopted by Council on 20 November 2008 and came into force on 1 February 2009. The bylaw was reviewed in 2015 and Council decided to not to make any changes.

Purpose

The purpose of the bylaw is to prevent the contamination of recoverable resources and maximise the recovery of recyclable resources.

It is also to ensure that waste is collected in a safe and efficient manner, and that waste does not cause a nuisance.
