You’ve got one week left to give feedback on what’s planned for your city over the next decade.

Every three years the Council reviews its Long Term Plan, which sets out everything we propose to do over the next 10 years, how we will do it, and where the money will come from.

Consultation on the draft Long Term Plan closes on 13 April.

Consultation on the draft plan closes at 5pm on Friday, 13 April. You can see a copy of the draft plan and give feedback online or at any Council library or service centre.

The plan focuses on getting the basics right – fixing roads, pipes and community facilities – while keeping the average residential rate increase at 5.5 per cent, says Mayor Lianne Dalziel.

“Have we got this balance right? Are there projects that we should fast track or put on hold? We’d like your feedback on these important questions.

“It is important for you to take the opportunity to have your say.  We need to prioritise what we do and what we do differently.

"Is there something you and your community could do together with Council support, for example 'Adopt a Park'? We're in it together, after all,'' the Mayor says.

So far, topics attracting interest include transport, the rates proposal and alternative funding sources.

You can come and meet us, ask questions and share your views at a final drop-in event on Wednesday 11 April between 4pm and 7pm in the Christchurch City Council building at 53 Hereford Street.

Can’t make the event? You can still get the answers you are looking for – just give us a call on 03 941 89999, leave your details and a good time for us to call, and one of our managers will be in touch.

Once consultation closes, the next step is hearings in May. The Council will then consider feedback and debate possible changes before adopting the final plan at the end of June.
