On Thursday 23 November the Christchurch City Council will be meeting at 9.30am. The main items on the agenda include:

  • Christchurch City Holdings Limited’s Annual Report for the year ended 30 June 2017.
  • The final Statement of Intent for the World Buskers Festival Trust for 2017/18.
  • The corporate finance report for the period ending 30 September 2017.
  • A report from the Infrastructure, Transport and Environment Committee which recommends the Council make some minor amendments to the Flood Intervention Policy for properties at increased risk of frequent above floor level flooding due to the earthquakes.
  • A report from the Infrastructure, Transport and Environment Committee which recommends the Council approve a package of flood management works to lessen the risk of flooding along the Heathcote River.
  • A report from the Infrastructure, Transport and Environment Committee which recommends the Council approve some changes to the Christchurch Biodiversity Fund.
  • A report from the Infrastructure, Transport and Environment Committee which recommends the Council approve some minor changes to the layout of St Asaph St and undertake public consultation on reducing the speed limit along St Asaph St to 30kph.
  • A report from the Infrastructure, Transport and Environment Committee which recommends the Council approve the An Accessible City scheme design for Hospital Corner and the Oxford Gap, with some enhancements.
  • A report from the Infrastructure, Transport and Environment Committee which recommends the Council write to the appropriate Minister to encourage regulation around labeling of compostible and recyclable containers and packaging.
  • A report which seeks Council’s approval for a letter to be written to the Minister of Business, Innovation and Energy regarding support for alternative fuels and requesting the Government revisit the biodiversity subsidy.
  • A report which recommends the Council approve a Metropolitan Discretionary Response Fund grant of $11,000 to Shakti Ethnic Women’s Support Group Christchurch. The group applied for the grant to help fund a family violence response system for migrant and refugee communities.
  • Hearings Panel reports on the proposed amendments to the General Bylaw 2008,  on the proposed Stock on Roads Bylaw 2017, on the proposed Traffic and Parking Bylaw 2017, and on the proposed Marine, River and Lake Facilities Bylaw 2017.
  • A report outlining potential sources of funding that could be used to help meet some of the costs of strengthening, repair and alteration works at St Peter’s Church in Upper Riccarton. Funding has been sought from the Council in order to meet a $500,000 shortfall in the Church’s insurance, grants and fundraising. Staff are recommending in the report that the Council approve a grant of $100,000 from the Capital Endowment Fund.
