Team New Zealand reclaimed the Auld Mug this morning when it won its 7th victory against Oracle.

“Christchurch would love to put on a celebratory parade for our America's Cup champions, Emirates Team New Zealand. They have made the entire country proud and it would be fantastic to show our appreciation as a city,’’ said Mayor Lianne Dalziel.

“The city put on a stunning parade for the 2015 Rugby World Cup celebrations and we are confident people would join with our champion sailors.

“We are already talking with the other parties and organisations involved, but it is too early to say if a parade or celebration will happen in Christchurch. We will confirm once we have any further information,’’ the Mayor said.
