Christchurch City Council and the Canterbury District Health Board are advising Governors Bay residents that the boil water notice has been lifted.

This means the water is now safe to drink.

The boil water notice was issued last week after E.Coli was detected in the water.  The affected water has since been treated with chlorine to kill all the bugs.

Flyers are being delivered to all homes and businesses in the area advising them the boil water notice has been lifted.

If residents need any further information they can contact the Council on 941 8999 or 0800 800 169.
