Information is being sought from parties interested in using community spaces in the new Woolston community facility, which will be built next year.

The Woolston Community Library will return as part of the new facility.

The Woolston Community Library in Ferry Rd was opened in 1871 and was one of the first suburban libraries in Christchurch, but it was badly damaged in the earthquakes and had to be demolished.

Christchurch City Council plans to replace the demolished building with a new 300 square metre facility which will include spaces for community groups to use.

Before Council starts working on a concept design for the new facility, they would like to hear from the community about how they would like to use the facility.

There will be another opportunity for the community to have give feedback once the concept design has been released.

To give your feedback on the community spaces within the new facility go to Have Your Say between now and 8.00 am on Monday, October 24.
