Tim is a second term city councillor and has served on the Spreydon Cashmere Community board since 2007. He became involved with local body politics as he likes to work with people to make things happen.

He has lived in this area all his life and has extensive local and community networks. He is also in the unique position of having worked at Christchurch City Council for several years - so he knows the organisation inside out.

Tim is interested in protecting our unique natural environment of the Heathcote River and Port Hills and providing community and sporting facilities which make the most of where we live.  He was key in securing the new Adventure Park for our area and is currently working with all the groups involved with the Summit Road to ensure it is protected and fully available for use by the majority.

Tim is the deputy chair of the Innovation and Sustainable Development Committee which is involved with ensuring we are prepared for upcoming challenges as we continue the rebuild of Christchurch as a sustainable 21st century city.

Tim is also on the Social & Community Development and Regulatory Performance committees. He sits on the Summit Road Protection Authority, Transition Project Committee and Land Drainage Recovery Programme (LDRP) Working Group as well as chairing the Board of VBase – the council company which runs council venues and attracts events to our city.

He enjoys putting his event management background to good use in helping secure great opportunities for our city. He is involved in several groups which are working to make our new city even better than before, for example the Cathedral Square and Surrounds Regeneration Strategy Steering Group.

Tim holds community clinics at the Beckenham service centre from 4.30pm to 6pm on the first Wednesday of each month. Please come along and catch up or call him on 027 693 5155 if you have an issue. He is also on Facebook(external link).
