Repair and strengthening work is due to begin on Risingholme Homestead and Hall early next year.
Work will begin on the homestead in late January 2018, followed by the hall in February. Minor repairs will also be carried out to the craft rooms at the same time as work is underway on the hall. The craft rooms will remain open while repairs are carried out.
Restoration work is expected to take a year to complete on the homestead, finishing in January 2019, while work on the hall and craft rooms is due to be completed in December 2018.
Work being undertaken on the homestead includes strengthening the building to 67 per cent of New Building Standard and rebuilding the brick chimneys.
Due to the devastating fire in 2016, the walls will be repaired and a new roof and bracing system installed.
